It helps establish policies, processes, and procedures for controlling environmental aspects like pollutants and waste, aiming for continual improvement through a structured approach.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS) to systematically manage sensitive company data, ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and availability (the CIA triad) through a risk-based approach involving people, processes, and technology, and allowing for certification. It provides a framework to identify, assess, and treat information security risks, helping organisations meet legal obligations and build stakeholder trust, applicable to any size or sector.

ISO 45001 is the international standard for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems, providing a framework for organisations to proactively manage risks, prevent work-related injuries/illnesses, and create safer, healthier workplaces for employees and stakeholders. It applies to any organisation, regardless of size or industry, and helps demonstrate legal compliance, enhance resilience, and integrate seamlessly with other standards like ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment).

CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a pre-approval scheme, which allows contractors to demonstrate to potential clients that they meet the required health and safety standards.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent authority responsible for upholding information rights, ensuring data privacy, and promoting transparency among public bodies. It handles data protection complaints, enforces compliance with data laws, and provides guidance on personal data rights and organisational responsibilities under key legislation, such as the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

SafeContractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of industry contractors and service providers. Many large organisations now use SafeContractor as their primary means selecting contractors.
